Is Resident Evil reverse delayed?
After disappearing last year. – Resident Evil Re:Verse may still be on track for release in 2022, despite developer Capcom going completely silent on it following a series of delays. As shared by Gematsu on Twitter (below), the Google Stadia version of Re:Verse – the PvP game originally scheduled to arrive alongside Resident Evil: Village – has been rated by European ratings board PEGI.
- Though Capcom hasn’t confirmed any release window except just “this year”, a game being rated usually signifies that a relatively complete version has been presented and it therefore isn’t too far from being released;
— Gematsu (@gematsu) May 7, 2022 The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions were rated exactly one year earlier (on May 7) but this was also the release date of Resident Evil: Village, and Re:Verse was originally intended to be a multiplayer mode within that game.
- While nothing is officially confirmed until Capcom itself announces it, the rating does indicate that progress on Re:Verse is at least being made;
- The game was first announced in January last year before being delayed to summer 2021 three months later;
Two months after its intended original release date, Capcom announced in July that Re:Verse had been delayed to 2022 “so that the team can continue working to deliver a smooth gameplay experience. ” Though the developer promised to share updates at a later date, practically nothing has been said about Re:Verse since the delay.

Resident Evil 9 platforms With this in mind, expect Resident Evil 9 to release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC at the same time. There may be a gameplay teaser that prioritises Sony though, as Capcom did with their Resident Evil Village ‘Maiden’ demo.
Why is Re:Verse not working?
Resident Evil Re:Verse, the multiplayer shooter originally aiming to launch alongside Resident Evil VIllage, has been delayed for a second time. It will now arrive in 2022. Announced on Twitter (below), Capcom explained that the delay was made “so that the team can continue working to deliver a smooth gameplay experience.
” After being originally announced for a May 7 release, the game was pushed back to ‘Summer 2021’. It’s not been an easy ride – even the game’s open beta test was suspended due to matchmaking problems. Is Re:Verse dead?
Is it even worth releasing at this point or should Capcom just put it out of its misery? (pic: Capcom) Multiplayer Resident Evil Re:Verse isn’t dead yet, although Capcom still hasn’t officially mentioned it over a year. Does anyone still remember Resident Evil Re:Verse ? With how little Capcom has spoken about it, you’d be forgiven for thinking it forgot the game exists as well. Turns out, much like the franchise’s zombies, it just won’t die and is limping along to release.
- Recently, a new listing for it was spotted on the European ratings board, PEGI; one that now confirms a Stadia release;
- Not that that’s really anything to be excited over;
- The multiplayer spin-off didn’t exactly resonate well with fans when it was first shown and, after being delayed twice , Capcom stopped talking about it altogether;
The listing doesn’t provide any hint towards a new release window. Funnily enough, the console versions are still marked down as coming out on May 7, 2021, which was the original plan (it was supposed to coincide with Resident Evil Village ). The Stadia version, meanwhile, is listed for May 7, 2022.
Obviously, that hasn’t happened, but new ratings tend to herald upcoming releases. So, it’s likely that Capcom is gearing up to release Resident Evil Re:Verse in the coming months. Perhaps the long absence is because it’s been taking the time to address all the criticisms (in particular its peculiar, not quite cel-shaded art style) and make the game more appealing.
As a reminder, Re:Verse is a deathmatch game for up to six players, where you take control of iconic Resident Evil heroes and villains. Had it released as planned, you would’ve got it for free if you bought Resident Evil Village. It remains to be seen if this will still be the case or if Capcom will just release it separately.
Unfortunately, this is the only Resident Evil game in the pipeline at the moment. A Resident Evil 9 is undoubtedly on the cards and there have been constant rumours of a Resident Evil 4 remake , but Capcom hasn’t officially acknowledged either.

Ethan Winters May Return in the Next Resident Evil While it seems highly unlikely that Capcom will bring Ethan back to act as Resident Evil 9’s protagonist, it won’t be surprising if Ethan’s story is not truly over.
Will we play as rose in RE9?
What is the Resident Evil 9 story? – We’re going to go into spoiler territory from here on out. If you haven’t beaten Village yet, be warned! Resident Evil Village gives us a good idea of what to expect in RE9. The game ends with Ethan Winters blowing himself up to destroy Mother Miranda.
- An end title card notes that “the father’s story” is over, so it seems like he won’t be the hero in a sequel;
- Rose Winters in Resident Evil Village;
- Capcom Instead, it looks like we’ll be playing as his daughter, Rose;
Village ends with a time jump, where a now grown-up Rose is doing some form of work for Chris Redfield. She also appears to have superpowers of some kind. All signs point to the next game starring Rose and bringing in some kind of supernatural gameplay. Alternately, we know that Chris Redfield heads off to BSAA headquarters after the events of Village , but we don’t actually see what happens.
Is Ethan Winters still alive?
Resident Evil Village [ edit ] – Ethan returns in Resident Evil Village as its central character. [5] Set three years after the events of the previous game, Ethan lives in Europe with Mia and their newborn daughter, Rosemary. Chris Redfield storms the house and kills Mia while taking him and Rosemary under custody.
The truck transporting Ethan is attacked and he is stranded in a nearby village whose inhabitants are massacred by monsters. He is captured by Karl Heisenberg, one of the four local lords who serve the village’s leader, Mother Miranda, and brought before her, discovering that they have Rosemary.
Miranda allows Heisenberg to dispose of Ethan, but Ethan escapes. [16] [17] After defeating Alcina Dimitrescu , one of the lords, Ethan discovers that Rosemary was dismembered, her remains stored in four flasks, each of the lords in possession of one of them; he learns from the local merchant The Duke that she can be revived should he retrieve all flasks.
- After obtaining them, and killing all the lords except for Heisenberg, Ethan reunites with Chris who reveals that the “Mia” he killed was a shapeshifting Miranda posing as her to kidnap Rosemary, and he was trying to protect the family;
Using a makeshift tank assembled by Chris, Ethan kills Heisenberg, only to be fatally wounded by Miranda as she rips out his heart. However, Ethan survives due to the regenerative abilities he developed through the effects of the mold in Louisiana. Shortly after, Ethan begins to hallucinate.
Eveline appears to Ethan, taunting Ethan that he has been dead since Louisiana, having been killed by Jack Baker in their first encounter. Ethan comes back to reality, being transported by The Duke in his carriage.
Ethan confronts Miranda and defeats her, rescuing the restored Rosemary, but begins to succumb to his wounds, which prove to be too severe for his regenerative abilities to counter. Having planted a bomb to destroy the Megamycete (the source of the mold that birthed Miranda, the Four Lords, and Eveline) Chris attempts to help Ethan and Rosemary to his helicopter.
However, Ethan realizes he is dying, and entrusts his daughter to Chris and asks him to watch over her. Ethan then takes the detonator from Chris as Miranda’s mold spreads, separating Ethan and Chris. Ethan limps toward the Megamycete and detonates the bomb, sacrificing himself as it destroys the village while the helicopter containing Chris, Mia, and Rose flies away.
